ABOUT us

IFMSA Serbia - Yugoslav Medical Students' International Committee was founded in 1952.
It has been a full member of IFMSA ever since

IFMSA Serbia - YuMSIC, as the national committee, has its local committees in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Kragujevac. Currently, YuMSIC has over 1000 members, around 150 of which actively participate in the work of YuMSIC. Just Like IFMSA, YuMSIC has six standing committees and it's two new organizing units. Every committee has its national coordinator and local coordinators in local subcommittees.

	SCOPE & SCORE
	The Committees for Professional and Research Exchange are very active within YuMSIC. Every year about 100 Yugoslav students go abroad for an exchange, and about the same number of foreign students visit our country. We most warmly welcome you to be our guest in one of the exchange programs.

SCORP

Because of tragic things that happened recently in our country, Standing Committee for human Rights and Peace has lots of things to do.
Recently, our "Friendship Clubs" project was reactivated as full IFMSA project and things are once again looking good for children in refugee camps for whom this project is made for.

SCORA

Committee on Reproductive health including AIDS has launched the "International Summer School STOP AIDS", very popular event in IFMSA.
Nowadays, the committee is engaged in promotion and educational programs on reproductive health, reproductive and women rights and fight against AIDS and STDs.

SCOPH

Committee on Public Health is in its development. We have successfully carried out public action on blood pressure screening and established two important projects, one considering child rights and health - "Child Abuse" and second one considering health of junkie population which is group on risk - "Harm Reduction". Anti-Smoking campaign is currently active in YuMSIC.

SCOME

Standing Committee on Medical Education has recently started being very active, bringing its project "Korak" (step) to attention. This program is concerned with our medical curriculum and ways to improve it. Much is expected from busy members of SCOME so we wish them good luck!

MARKETING

Marketing and PR division is something new in YuMSIC and it represents our reaction on world - wide trends in marketing and public relations in NGOs. YuMSIC Marketing division is currently very active in bringing the media's attention to YuMSIC and its programs.

New technologies support division

Another brand new division of YuMSIC, NTM division is concerned with educating and informing the medical students and workers about new technologies in medicine. Newest addition, but with several projects in making, one of whom is making this site operative.
